I loved this conversation with Aimee Blair of Creative Compass where we chatted about the importance of making space for creativity as an essential part of self care and wellbeing.

As the creator and author of the Garden Party, I share my insights on how the imagery of a garden can teach us valuable lessons about life and self-nurturing.

Grab an art journal or a regular notebook and join us in this enriching journey down the garden path.

The Power of Gardens as Metaphor

My love for gardens extends beyond the physical realm into the symbolic, where a garden becomes a powerful metaphor for the journey of life. Gardens, whether external or internal, offer lessons in planting seeds, tending to growth, harvesting, and allowing for periods of rest.

The external garden, for me, becomes a visible manifestation of my inner world, serving as a constant reminder of the need for self-care and nurturing.

Recognizing Depletion and Refilling the Well

In our discussion about recognizing signs of depletion, I introduce the analogy of a water butt – a storage container for rainwater.

I describe how we often realize we are empty only when we attempt to draw from our reserves. The echoes of self-doubt and the loudness of the inner critic become more pronounced in moments of emptiness.

I emphasize the importance of recognizing the shadow side, listening to our needs, and understanding that self-care is not a one-size-fits-all practice.

Self-Care Practices and the Symbolism of Gardens

I share my personal self-care practice, highlighting the grounding connection I find by walking barefoot in my garden.

Our discussion touches on the willingness to get one's hands dirty, drawing parallels between caring for physical plants and attending to our own needs.

The metaphor of a plant being watered once a year prompts reflection on our own willingness to prioritize self-care and regular nourishment.

Soul Journaling: A Creative Practice

I am excited to share a creative practice I call Soul Journaling – doodling with intention.

This practice involves using visual expression to access inner wisdom and intuition, emphasizing the importance of creativity without the pressure of a predetermined outcome.

I encourage you to engage in this process using an art journal or a regular notebook, fostering a sense of flow and resilience.

In the Garden of Creativity: A Continuous Practice

This guided soul journaling meditation is not a one-time event but a continuous practice. Regularly tending to our creative garden, acknowledging its needs, and embracing the ebb and flow of our energy ensures a thriving and sustainable creative practice.

See you in the Garden!

Sometimes it's hard to balance the desire to please others with the need to prioritize our own well-being and happiness.

I've been there!

For me, finding time to slow down and do something just for myself, like creating in my journal, is essential for my mental health and happiness.

When was the last time you did something just for you?

When was the last time you tended to your creative spirit?

Nurturing Inner Joy: A Journey Through Life Transitions

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, twists and turns, and pivotal moments that challenge us to our core. These moments can often leave us feeling lost, scared, and disconnected.

My own transformational journey led me to the phrase "Your deepest wound is your greatest medicine."

In this interview, I had the privilege of sharing my own journey as a creative visionary and "emotional gardener," helping women create safe spaces for inner joy and connection. Through my experiences with childhood bereavement, divorce, loss, career changes, and other significant life events, I have developed valuable insights and emotional tools to navigate these transitions with courage and resilience.

The Seed of Inspiration: Childhood Bereavement and Trauma

My journey began with my own childhood bereavement and trauma. These early experiences left deep wounds that took time to heal and created filters that impacted how I saw my life moving forward.

But, as I healed, I realized that these wounds were the seeds of my transformation.

They inspired me to discover and create emotional tools to help others who were navigating similar life events.

Menopause, Divorce, and Loss: Transforming Limitations and Fears

Life transitions, such as menopause, divorce, and the loss of loved ones, can be incredibly challenging.

They often come with a sense of limitation and fear, making it difficult to see a path forward.

However, I believe that these transitions are opportunities for growth and self-discovery. They are moments when we can shed the old and embrace the new.

Holistic Healing: Mind, Body, and Soul

One of the key insights I shared in the interview is the importance of recognizing that traumatic experiences affect not only our minds but also our bodies and souls.

Holistic healing is essential for true transformation.

This means taking care of our mental and emotional well-being, nourishing our bodies with self-care and healthy practices, and nurturing our souls through meaningful connections and self-discovery.

Emotional Tools for Resilience

Throughout my journey, I have developed a toolbox of emotional tools that have been invaluable in helping women navigate challenging life transitions. These tools include mindfulness practices, journaling, creative expression, and the power of community and connection. They serve as a roadmap for finding inner strength and resilience.

The Roadmap to Courage and Resilience

My story and the emotional tools I've developed provide a roadmap for women to navigate life's most challenging transitions with courage and resilience. It begins with acknowledging the pain and fear but also recognizing the potential for growth and transformation.

It involves seeking support, whether from friends, family, or professionals, and embracing holistic healing practices that nurture the mind, body, and soul.

“Celia's insights on setting intentions, trusting the universe's guidance, and aligning with the right timing are truly inspiring. Her emphasis on being present in the moment and visualizing how we want to feel, rather than focusing solely on material aspects, offers a refreshing perspective on manifesting a fulfilling life.”

I was delighted to be invited as a guest speaker on the Spiritual Geek Podcast.

Sheila Franzen and I had a wonderful conversation, diving deep into the transformative journey of ReAwakening to your Soul's Purpose.

It's an episode that will leave you feeling inspired and ready to embrace your own unique path with a sense of curiosity and playfulness.

I share my personal experiences of reframing overwhelm and finding elasticity in moments of potential chaos. I talk about the importance of taking breaks, breathing, and reflecting to regain your inner balance.

And guess what? The journey isn't about pushing through; it's about being present and embracing the stretchiness of life.

One of the key takeaways from this episode is the idea of infusing lightness and joy into our pursuit of soul's purpose.

Personal growth doesn't have to be serious and difficult!

In fact, it should be a joyous exploration of self-discovery that counterbalances the heaviness often associated with teachings.

Reflect on your own unique life experiences and how they have shaped your individual journey.

As I delve into my own journey of rediscovering my life purpose, I speak candidly about moments of attachment to outcomes and finding peace in letting go. I reference my book "The Garden Party," which beautifully illustrates the importance of spreading our wings and connecting with our soul's purpose.

In this episode, I also share my delightful experience of connecting with new people through my speaking engagements. It's a testament to the power of following your passions and how they can lead you back to your soul's purpose, even if it didn't feel like the obvious path at first.

We also get a glimpse into Sheila's journey, from initially wanting to be a teacher to finding her purpose through mathematics and computer science. It's a reminder that our paths may take unexpected turns, but they ultimately lead us to where we need to be.

Our deepest wounds hold our greatest medicine, and by embracing our own healing, we can support others in finding theirs.

There have been times when I felt overwhelmed by life; my own healing journey led me to discover a powerful way to reframe those moments as "feeling stretchy." As I share my journey of expansion and growth, I unveil the tools I have acquired to regain my elasticity and gracefully handle potential moments of overwhelm.

It is so important to find your own way of receiving information and guidance. While I find stillness as my starting point, I encourage you to explore what works best for you, embracing the synchronicities and symbols that come your way.
